Sales Engineer for DESMI Ocean Guard A/S

Are you our new Sales Engineer that can assist and participate in driving sales activities through multiple sales channels on a global scale? Maybe you have experience with international sales activities in the marine segment? DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is one of the world’s leading developers and suppliers of Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) used on-board ships worldwide to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. We are in charge of our projects from initial sales to commissioning of installed systems, and use subcontractors for manufacturing, installation and service.

Become part of an ambitious and engaged organisation
As Sales Engineer you are responsible for assisting DESMI Ocean Guard’s global sales activities. These activities include direct sales activities by DESMI Ocean Guard as well as global BWMS sales through the Marine & Offshore segment in DESMI Pumping Technology, and through our agents and Distributors. An important role will be to drive and nurse the in-direct sales by providing support to our partners.

In short you are responsible for:
• Preparation of quotes
• Pro-active sales activities carried out by DESMI Ocean Guard
• Assisting and supporting sales through our partners
• Marketing in close collaboration with DESMI Marketing department
• Reporting on sales activities to management

You will be part of the Sales department in DESMI Ocean Guard, which is located at our office in Nørresundby, Denmark. In addition you will have close collaboration with DESMI sales personnel in China, Korea, Singapore, Germany, France, Netherlands, UK, USA and Denmark, to name a few. You will report directly to the Sales Director. You should expect some travel activity, around 50 days per year.

Our office in Nørresundby is located at DESMI’s global headquarter with more than 200 employees and own production and warehouse facilities. DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is 100% owned by DESMI A/S and you will therefore become part of a large international company with more than 180 years history and more than 700 employees worldwide.

Sales Engineer in the marine segment
Maybe you have a proven track record with successful involvement in sales activities in the marine segment – but could also be from other lines of businesses. Furthermore, you may have experience with managing sales activities, including experience with managing in-direct sales through a network of sales representatives, agents and distributors. Preferably, you have a background with good technical understanding of ships and equipment on-board ships. You have good communication skills and you thrive on the opportunity to take part in the development of a young company. You are fluent in written and spoken English.
