Technical Designer for DESMI Ocean Guard A/S

Are you a Technical Designer with broadly applicable skills? Do you want to use and share your technical knowledge to develop and offer the most value-adding solutions for our customers at all times? Do you want to make a difference in terms of environmental protection of the oceans? We are experiencing great growth and we therefore want to expand our technical department with an ambitious and enthusiastic Technical Designer who can develop solutions and drawing materials for the production and installation of our ballast water treatment systems onboard ships.

DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is one of the world's leading suppliers of ballast water management systems (BWMS) which prevent the spread of invasive species in the world's oceans. We manage the tasks from sale to delivery and use subcontractors to produce, install, commission and service the plants.
 
Become part of an ambitious and committed organisation
You are responsible for ensuring that the customer is given the most cost-efficient solution matching his requirements. The Technical Designer takes part in the entire process by supporting Project managers, from technical clarification and possible inspection onboard vessels around the world, through support to our Project Managers when the order is in house,  to system delivery and commissioning on the ship. As a Technical Designer, you will therefore have a broad interface, internally with our Sales Engineers and Project Managers, and externally to our customers and suppliers.

In Short, your tasks will be:
• Preparation of 3D models for the installation and integration of our systems onboard ships. We work in the Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault and AutoCAD Plant 3D. You are expected to master this, and we expect you are familiar with ships, their main components and systems.
• Preparation of drawings, documentation and manuals of our products for use in production and/or approvals.
• Retrofit projects with customers that include ship inspections, 3D scanning, drawing preparation and documentation of BWTS installations.
• Creating and checking bill of materials and the supporting documentation.

You may expect up to 30 annual travel days in the job, mainly in connection with ship inspections and installations of our systems worldwide.

Your Profile:
You have a technical background, such as a Technical Designer, constructor, etc. Solid knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Vault and AutoCAD Plant 3D is important. Since, as mentioned, you will have a large interface, it is essential that you have a commercial mindset, is a skilled communicator and has a practical approach to all tasks. Experience is of course an advantage, but responsibility, positive energy and development potential are weighed at least as high. Experience from the maritime industry is an advantage. We expect the candidate to have a mindset that can handle Ad-hoc short deadline tasks.
