M&O Sales Manager The Company DESMI UK Limited, established in 1978 is part of the DESMI pumping technology organisation based in Denmark, which operates globally through sales companies and distributors. Established in 1834, the company is pre-eminent in the design, development, sales and after-sales of pumps and pump systems in varied markets including industry, marine, offshore, utility and aquaculture. Position Overview DESMI UK Limited require an ambitious and professional Sales Manager for the sale and after-sale support of pumps and pumping systems into the Marine & Offshore segment in the UK. The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director who will collaborate with the M&O Sales Manager to develop the business and achieve the agreed targets. The Role - To maintain and further develop brand awareness with both new and existing customers within the specific market segments
- To be an ambassador for the company and actively promote and sell the equipment through all channels including social media, tele-communications and face to face meetings
- Provide reports, information and market intelligence to the business in a timely manner, both in the UK and Denmark, as and when required
- Attend and contribute to regular company sales meetings, usually held on a quarterly basis
- Assist in organising, set-up/set-down and attending exhibitions
- Qualify, follow up and manage all segment quotations within the company quoting system
- After sales care is essential to the company’s strategy
- The equipment is sold through multiple routes which can include agents, resellers, distributors, key accounts (national and global), OEM’s and direct
- Contributes to annual budget and goal setting
- Become familiar with the company’s business tools including producing quotations
- A high degree of travel within the UK is required
The Person - A good engineering/technical background
- A strong sales background, preferably with experience in managing multiple routes to market
- Computer literate with a good knowledge of CRM’s, and Microsoft Office
- Ideally qualified to the following levels:
- Minimum HND in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanically biased or a high degree of demonstrable experience in the segment and/or the equipment
- An aptitude for problem solving and logically-minded with the ability to identify and offer solutions on-site
- Exceptionally well organised and can develop strong customer relationships
- Confident and able to present the equipment to engineers, buyers and senior management level customers professionally
- Ideally located centrally in the UK, with a willingness to travel anywhere in the UK
- Has little restrictions to travel including occasional overseas trips
- Self-motivated and organised, but can also work as part of a team
- Would be an advantage to have gained experience with pumps
, pump systems and the UK marine and offshore segment but is not essential for the right candidate as full training will be given Remuneration The salary will be dependent upon experience but is sufficient to attract high calibre and highly-motivated candidates. An executive Company car is offered along with the usual business equipment including laptop, mobile phone and company credit card. The successful candidate will join the company pension scheme.
