Product Manager for DESMI Aquaculture Water Treatment Systems

On the basis of solid results in the market for UV-based ballast water treatment systems we now wish to expand into the business of water treatment within Aquaculture. Aquaculture is expected to be the fastest growing food sector globally in the coming decade and we see great opportunities for supply of state-of-the-art water treatment systems. If you would like to play a key role in the development of this new business area in DESMI Ocean Guard A/S we are looking for an Aquaculture Water Treatment Systems Product Manager.

DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is one of the world’s leading developers and suppliers of Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) used on-board ships worldwide to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species. The technology used is filtration and UV treatment. With our current UV treatment product portfolio we have already secured first references within Aquaculture, also thanks to the great synergy with DESMI’s pump division who are already a major supplier of pumps for aquaculture.

We see great potential for further developing and optimizing our UV system offering to better match the needs and requirements within Aquaculture, and we are now looking for a new colleague to drive this development. As Product Manager you will also be responsible for development and maintenance of drawings, bill of material etc. needed for the production of the systems. You will also have plenty of possibilities for impacting the overall business plan and strategy within this field.

As Product Manager you drive the development of new and optimized UV systems for Aquaculture. You will work closely with a highly competent organisation with experts within mechanical design, water treatment, UV technology, engineering and automation. The Aquaculture Product Manager will also be responsible for development and maintenance of drawings, bill of material etc. needed for the production of the systems. You will also have plenty of possibilities for impacting the overall business plan and strategy within this field.

In short you are responsible for:

• Driving the development and optimization of UV systems for Aquaculture
• Development and maintenance of drawings, bill of material etc.
• Provide technical support to Aquaculture sales team
• Other ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned

You will be part of the Product Management team in DESMI Ocean Guard, which is headquartered at our office in Nørresundby, Denmark. You will report the Product Management team leader. You should expect little travel activity.

Our office in Nørresundby is located at DESMI’s global headquarter with more than 200 employees and own production and warehouse facilities. DESMI Ocean Guard A/S is 100% owned by DESMI A/S and you will therefore become part of a large international company with more than 180 years history and around 900 employees worldwide.

Product Manager Aquaculture
You have experience from Aquaculture industry or from other relevant UV water treatment applications. You have a technical background, e.g. engineering or similar. You have good communication skills and you are a flexible team player. You are fluent in written and spoken English.

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or similar field
• Minimum of 2+ years of related experience
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Knowledge of aquaculture business is a plus
• Experience with Autocad or similar is a plus
• Interest to develop yourself and company around you
