DESMI has production in Denmark, China, India, and US. The position as Purchasing Specialist is based in Poland, but the team you will be joining is managed from Headquarter in Denmark.

The job
The purchasing department has a central role in the supply chain and thus a decisive influence on the company’s performance.

You will be part of a competent team of 6 people, who in collaboration with our sourcing team, focus on we have the right suppliers. 

Your primary task is to service the organization as a support function for production. Ongoing creation and adjustment of purchase orders as well as follow-up on deliveries are the biggest daily tasks.

The new Strategic Purchaser will be located regionally in the DESMI Sp. z o.o in Warsaw, Poland, together with the Polish team, but will report to directly to Global Procurement Manager, and will be part of the Global Procurement Team. 

Main tasks on this position:

• Support category managers through obtaining quotes and other relevant master data and enter data in ERP system.
• Identify problem suppliers with poor delivery performance, assist with route course analysis and coordinate actions until delivery performance is above KPI
• Categorization of part numbers and update ERP system
• Freight invoice control and governance
• Monthly monitoring reports on supplier level / category level / category manager level for risk management and category performance
• Updating lead times, prices, and country of origin in systems
• Reporting:
  • Spend Development
  • Preferred suppliers share of spend
  • On time delivery performance
  • Contract coverage performance
  • Payment performance
  • Price performance (Price development on part number level, supplier level and category level)
  • Cost down performance on category manager level

Your profile
The position requires high communication skills in English and Polish. Ideally, 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or strategic purchasing. Overall, the position requires a service minded and solution-oriented personality, with skills and ability to work locally and across borders.

• Is structured, flexible and committed, and can maintain an overview in a busy everyday life.
• Wants to participate in the development and anchoring of routines and processes in DESMI’s Supply Chain
• Has solid IT knowledge and experience with ERP systems.
• Experience within pump technology or technical products purchasing will be an advantage.

Expected travel days 
Between 10-30 days per year
