Would you like to play an active role in the environmental protection of the world’s oceans and securing the worlds seaways? Do you have experience with international sales activities in the defence or marine segment? Are you our new Sales Manager that can take charge of sales activities for our Naval and coastguard customers? We are experiencing significant growth and are looking for an ambitious and experienced defence and marine Sales Manager who can help us un-lock our full potential.  

DESMI and DESMI Defence and fuel is one of the world’s leading developers and suppliers of Naval Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) used on-board naval and coastguard vessels worldwide to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species during naval operations. We are facing a booming market in the coming years and our CompactClean BWMS is highly requested by customers due to chemical free treatment, simplicity, small footprint, and the strongest set of type approvals in the business. Therefore, we are significantly boosting our global BWMS sales organization.

Become part of an ambitious and engaged organisation
As Sales Manager you are responsible for DESMI defence & Fuel sales activities in a in the defence and naval business area. These activities include direct sales activities towards naval end customers, Shipyards, naval designers in close collaboration with your colleagues and the Segment Director for Defence and Fuel sales. 
In short you are responsible for:
  • Pro-active sales activities such as seeking and finding new customers
  • Preparation of quotes 
  • Negotiation and closure of contracts, in collaboration with Segment Director and Head Office for large contracts
  • Assisting and supporting sales through our sales agents and distributors
  • Reporting on sales activities to management 
  • Coordination with DESMI Sales organisation
You will be part of the Defence & Fuel Segement Sales team in the located in Nørresundby,Denmark which is managed out of our office in either Nørresundy ,Denmark ,  and you will be responsible for our naval BWMS sales on global scale. In addition, you will have close collaboration with DESMI sales personnel in Korea, Singapore, Germany, France, Netherlands, UK, USA, Canada and Denmark, to name a few. You will report directly to the Segment Director Defence and Fuel Christian Wollerup Sørensen. You should expect some travel activity, around 60-90 days per year.

DESMI Defence & Fuel is placed in Nørresundby and part of DESMI pumping Technology A/S and is located at DESMI’s global headquarter with more than 200 employees and own production and warehouse facilities. DESMI Pumping Technology A/S is 100% owned by DESMI A/S and you will therefore become part of a large international company with more than 180 years history and around 1000 employees worldwide. 

Sales Manager in the defence & Fuel segment
You have a proven track record with successful involvement in sales activities in the defence or marine segment. Preferably, you have a background as a technical officer, marine engineer, engineer or a commercial background with good technical understanding of ships and equipment on-board ships. 
Preferably you have worked with ILS inside the defence business area.
You have good communication skills and you thrive on the opportunity to take part in the development of a growing business , at the same time you are motivated by hunting new customers and servicing existing naval customers worldwide, as well as travels and customer visits.
You are fluent in written and spoken English, Danish and preferably a third language . 
You must be able to obtain NATO security clearance.
